Why Fit Is the Foundation of Support

Our patented pelvic floor support hammock provides lift and relief from below—but only if the garment fits your body properly. A great fit means no shifting, no digging, and no compression in the wrong places.

Whether you’re managing symptoms like heaviness or just looking for more comfort postpartum or during perimenopause, the right fit ensures you’ll feel supported—not squeezed.

What’s Your Butt Shape—And Why It Matters

Understanding your unique butt shape can help you avoid waistbands that dig in, choose clothes that actually fit—and if you're seeking pelvic floor support, find a garment that truly works with your body.

At Hem, we design with shape in mind. Choosing the right fit style—Curvy or Straight—makes all the difference in how our garment lifts and stays in place throughout the day. Each style is made to follow your natural curves and provide targeted support—without sliding down or digging in.

Use the visuals below to see which butt shape looks most like yours. It’s a simple step that makes choosing your fit style easier—and your support more effective.

Pear or A-Shape

Try our Curvy Style

Pear or A-shaped butts widen below the hip bones. You tend to have a narrower waist and wider set, curvier hips and thighs.

Round

Try our Curvy Style

Your butt is full on the top and the bottom and has a curve to the outer hips.

Heart

Try our Curvy style

Heart shaped butts are similar to round butts, but are like an upside down heart with more volume in the butt at the lower part of the hip. Usually have a taper near your top hip and a narrower waist.

V-Shape

Try our Straight Style

You have narrower hips with the widest part being at the upper hip and then angling inward as you move down your thigh. This looks like a V-shape from behind.

Square

Try our Straight Style

The width of your hips and outer thighs is fairly constant. The line from your hip to your thighs runs perpendicular to the ground.

FAQs

Common Questions About Fit

What if I’m between sizes?

We recommend sizing up if you're in between. Our smaller sizes tend to run small.

What’s the difference between the Curvy and Straight fit?

The Curvy fit is designed for fuller hips and a more rounded backside, and for people who have larger hips relative to their waist. The Straight fit is better for flatter or narrower silhouettes, and for people whose hips are closer to the same size as their waist. Both offer the same support—just shaped differently to hug your body comfortably.

Will the garment dig in or roll down?

Our high-cut leg openings and no-dig waistband are designed to move with you, not against you. Choosing the right size and fit style helps prevent digging and rolling.

How do I know if I got the right one?

Most customers say they feel relief right away. If it doesn’t feel quite right, we make exchanges easy—and we’re here to help. Just reach out.
