A Note From Our Founder

“I created Hem because I needed it myself. After being diagnosed with pelvic organ prolapse, I couldn’t find anything that truly worked or felt good to wear. So I set out to design something better—not just for me, but for every woman who deserves comfort, support, and confidence in her own body.”

—Lauren, Founder of Hem Support Wear

Why Hem

Why Testing Matters

Pelvic health is personal.

Whether you're managing prolapse, navigating postpartum recovery, or going through perimenopause, you deserve support that actually fits your life.

That’s why we don’t guess—we gather real feedback from real women. Every round of testing brings us closer to the garment that helps you move through your day with less stress, more confidence, and the relief you deserve.

Who We Test With

We work with a diverse group of testers—including pelvic floor PTs, postpartum moms, active grandmas, and women with multiple types of prolapse.

Our testers span:

  • Sizes XS–3XL
  • Both Curvy and Straight body types
  • A range of ages, from early 30s to late 60s
  • Varied pelvic floor diagnoses and symptom levels

Because true support isn’t just about measurements. It’s about how you feel in your body.

What We're Looking For

We don’t just ask if it fits—we ask how it feels throughout your day.

During testing, we assess:

  • Lift and support - Does it reduce heaviness or bulging?
  • All-day comfort - Can you wear it for hours without thinking about it?
  • Fit while seated and moving - Not just standing in front of a mirror.
  • Confidence - Does it help you feel like yourself again?
  • Wash and wear performance - No rolling, sagging, or digging.

What We've Learned

Every test teaches us something new.

Some of the biggest insights from our testers include:

  • Waistband comfort matters more than you think. A supportive feel shouldn't mean a tight squeeze.
  • Mobility is key. You should be able to walk, sit, bend, and chase a toddler or a pet—without adjusting your underwear.
  • Subtle is powerful. Most women want discreet support that doesn’t look or feel like medical gear.

Everyone has a “butt shape story.” That’s why we created both Curvy and Straight options—because one cut can’t serve everyone well.

How Testing Shapes What You Wear Today

You’re not just buying a garment—you’re benefiting from the stories, needs, and preferences of over 100 women who came before you.

Every stitch, seam, and silhouette is based on the real-world experience of people who wore it, lived in it, and told us the truth. And we’re just getting started.

Our commitment to testing continues as we prepare to launch new designs and expand our product line. We’re always listening—and always improving.

Version 1.0
Testing doesn’t stop once a garment hits the shelf.

Since launch, over 500 women have worn Hem and shared their experiences through surveys, returns, and provider sample kits. We also gather feedback directly from pelvic floor physical therapists who bring a clinical lens to how our garments perform.

Every piece of feedback—whether it’s about comfort, fit, or long-term wear—goes right back into improving what we make.

That means the garment you wear today is already shaped by real women’s lives, and the next version will be, too.
